Attorney takes on defense of one accused in Argentina's triple murder case

Buenos Aires, November 18 (NA) -- Attorney Roberto Castillo has taken on the defense of Florencia Ibáñez, one of the nine detainees in the triple murder case with a narco stamp in Florencio Varela, just days after the federal justice system agreed to investigate the case into the murders of Morena Verdi (20), Brenda Loreley Del Castillo (20), and Lara Gutiérrez (15). According to what the Argentine News Agency (NA) learned based on the official communiqué, the lawyer confirmed it through social networks: "Today we assume the technical defense of Florencia Ibáñez, one of the people accused in the case of the triple murder in Florencio Varela." "From now on, we absolutely repudiate the events that occurred, the triple murder, and the violence with which the crime was committed. But we also firmly maintain that our client has no connection to what happened," Castillo continued. The attorney also referred to the work of his firm: "We intervene to guarantee the full exercise of her right to defense and to ensure that the process respects the highest standards of constitutionality." On November 11, the Federal Criminal and Correctional Court of the Morón Judicial Department agreed to take over the investigation, as confirmed to this medium by prosecutor Adrián Arribas, and stated that the case was captioned as 'unlawful deprivation of liberty and aggravated triple femicide'.
